Religious Ideas (Reblog)
I have tried (and I think pretty much succeeded) to stay away from religion on this blog. I’ve had a few poems with religious tones, but I’ve never really put my ideas out here. I’ve done this because I know that this is a poetry blog. I’m not trying to make it a poetry/religion blog.
With that being said, I am going to make a new blog for my religious ramblings. It will be a blog about Christianity (because that is my religious belief) but it will also be open for submissions about other religious views or disagreements with the Christian religion.
If it sounds like something you would be interested in here is the link

if not, then just move on with your day.
There are no posts on it yet, but I plan on changing that soon. They will probably be longer reads though. Around 500-600 words.
I am already taking questions or submissions if you want to ask my opinion over religious issues or even if you want to submit something debating a Christian issue. All I ask is you be respectful.
I don’t know what started this your poetry sucks thing
but I’m gonna try it
Your Poetry Sucks
Tonight I stayed up and read
through that old notebook
you gave me
when you were writing.
Your poetry sucks
I can’t read another word
about how much you loved me
or what you thought about my eyes.
The metaphors are simple,
the lines are fragile
breaking
without any
reason,
and your words
don’t sink into my skin.
Your poetry sucks
it could never make me realize
that I am still desperately in love
with you or your words.
Heartbeat
1. She told me she stopped falling in love after she had sex for the first time. The boy’s passion escaped his eyes when he finished. He had the courtesy to stay until she fell asleep, but in the morning he was gone, leaving only the smell of sex and the image of his face forever traced into her skull.
2. Since then she began counting lovers, scratching tally marks into her headboard. She would wake up alone and hold pillows close to her skin pretending to listen for heartbeats.
3. She warned me, told me not to fall in love with her. Said she romanticized the idea of love, but was actually scared waking up to a heartbeat instead of a pillow.
4. We made love that night; a love she didn’t believe in.
5. I woke up to a pillow that smelled like her perfume. I searched to her but only found a few small traces of her: a lipstick stained glass, a black bra, a hair tie, and a note that read - “Your heartbeat scares me”.
Blue Knuckles
When the cold rolls in thick and slow it seeps into the bones of this city and slows it down. Traffic gets backed up to thirty MPH all over the veins of the city as if we are scared of disturbing the wind. This lingering cold splits my skin and reminds me that I am breathing with every gasp of thin air I draw in. I love this time of year. Girls wear layers of skin to protect their bodies from the cold, something about this modesty is attractive- romantic even. When winter sinks into all the corners of this city I can feel my mood change from apathetic to passionate. The clouds consume the sky in a sullen gray color that paints the horizon affectionate, my words visibly dance off my lips and into the air, and everything smells like Christmas.
It’s these types of days that make me want to sit at home with you and let winter run its course. Even now, as I hear the heater whispering in its wheezing falsetto voice, I can’t help but miss you. Are thinking of me- you know I love sweater weather, and I wonder if possibly your thoughts are as blue as my knuckles on days like this. Has the romance sunk into your skeleton and excited your senses? I can only hope so as I write these words listening to frozen air kissing off my window.
First post in my new blog
http://mybonesarebruised.tumblr.com/
which is strictly a religious blog. I try to keep my religious views and ideas out of this blog. So if you are interested in my views on God and Christianity they are in this blog. I only have one post so far though.
